Sunday walk – ‘Retail therapy’
Leader: Ian Doughty
Congleton’s commercial success has, since the medieval period, been dependent upon its ability to trade. Using images, this walk will look at how the town’s main streets have reflected our changing attitudes to the way we have shopped since 1880.
Meet at the museum at 2pm, no need to book in advance, simply turn up on the day. Walks include a booklet containing images relevant to the walk.
Complimentary cream tea after the walk with each adult ticket is included. A sweet snack and cordial is available for children. Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you have any dietary requirements.
