Description
A description of the area forming the boundary between the counties of Cheshire and Staffordshire, from Whitemoor in the Biddulph Valley along the ridge which forms Congleton Edge and Mow Cop. Reference is made to the administrative division, the geology and its impact on the area, early occupation and later development, the siege of Biddulph Hall, the building of Mow Cop ‘Castle’ and the growth of Primitive Methodism.
